Scruffy doing what Scruffy does

I "think" I want to go outside.
Ok, maybe I want in now.
Who is going to wash this window?

Yes, this glass is REALLY dirty.

 Finally, inside and warming up.

When will my new forever family find me?

Scruffy one month update

Scruffy’s been with us for a month now, and is doing great.

He is easy to have around, and does not demand a lot of exercise. Although he would love as much as we can give, he doesn’t seem to go crazy when the weather’s bad and we need to stay indoors. He’s also become a great couch lounger and is happy to just hang out. He is dependably housetrained in my home, with no accidents since the first two days.

Scruffy is now crating easily with a treat, but does bark for 2-3 minutes when we leave. He settles quickly though, and is resting peacefully when we get home.

Walking on the leash has become a piece of cake. He listens well and is happy to follow directions.

We had two events of counter-surfing over the Holidays, but have not seen a repeat since then. Scruffy has become very well behaved around food and has never found the trash or opened a cabinet. He doesn’t chew on anything, and absolutely loves his toys.

Scruffy has been great with all the people he meets. He doesn’t seem to have a preference between men and women, and did well with my grandson. He does not jump-up and there is no barking when someone comes to the door. He also LOVES to ride in the car.

He has not had the opportunity to meet any dogs, other than our Charlie, but he did well at his initial meet and greet, and we plan on attending the event on Saturday 1/21/16 at Tail Waggin Doggy Daycare. We will see how that goes. I expect him to do wonderfully. Come see us !! There’s more info on the Fluffy Dog website.

Scruffy is absolutely READY for a family and home of is own!

Scruffy's measurements

Ok folks, here’s a few things you need to know about me.

I am approximately 14 inches tall, floor to shoulder

and approximately 18 inches from collar to base of my tail.

These measurements are VERY approximate, because I will not stand still for my foster mom. Doesn’t she know that if she’s gonna be that close to me with her hands, it really should be all about petting me? She’s so silly.

Also, my foster Dad gave me a bath!!

Not sure what he was thinking. I wasn’t very happy about it.

But…. I stood PERFECTLY still and did not move a muscle until the bath was finished.

He called me a very good boy,

but I already knew that.

Scruffy loves chillin

All my boys chillin' on Sunday afternoon.

Scruffy just wants to be part of the family.
Could it be your family?

He's really a mellow dude.

Scruffy the day we met

Here are a few pictures of the day we met Scruffy.

We took him to a Meet N Greet in Oconomowoc.

Unfortunately he was not able to come home with us that day, but we have him now :-)

He was a very good boy at the event.
(And still is)

Scuffy two week update

Housetraining –  Scruffy has become very reliable. No accidents and he now has earned several hours of free time in the house between trips outside.
Crate- Scruffy is getting much better at entering the crate on his own, now that he knows we will always be back to let him out. Many times all it takes is a treat and a command. Although getting into the crate is getting easier as he gets to know us, he does now fuss for a short time when we leave. It’s only for a bit, then he settles nicely. I think he likes being part of the family and misses us when we leave. This too will pass

Food/Eating-No problems here. Loves to eat and is not at all fussy. Likes all treats and takes them nicely most of the time. He did get excited a few times and got a little mouthy. He will learn that the treats will keep coming, and he doesn’t need to be in such a hurry. We also have had two incidents of counter-surfing. Both my fault. I left my people food well within reach of his doggy nose. But, it might be good to know as his new family, you will have to clean-up after yourself for a little while. Ha ha

Socialization- We have not had the opportunity to meet any other dogs yet. We just don’t get out as much in the winter. He has met more people and has done well in the car. He just quietly observes people coming and going in the parking lots, etc without barking or getting anxious. And the only reaction he has when someone comes to the front door, is a tail wag and a “won’t you pet me” look.
Personality – Happy and easy-going, Scruffy is very adaptable. He has become an expert on our household routines and schedules. It’s like he’s been here all his life. He is also one of just a couple of fosters who has been brave enough to follow us down into the basement and back. He really loves to be part of whatever is going on.

Coat/Size- I forgot to mention in previous posts, that we have seen little to no shedding from this scruffy guy.
