Triscuit gets a haircut

It was only a matter of time.
Check out the before and afters
This is Triscuit when she was first rescued in Alabama

I thought she looked like Phylliss Diller... Does anyone remember Phyllis??

My husband, the forever "Rocker", says she looked more like Lita Ford.

Look how pretty she is now.
Who do you think she looks like?

Cute and spunky haircut to match a cute and spunky girl

Just a few pictures of Triscut playing in the yard.
Feeling good after her morning at the salon.

I bother... I guess it doesn't matter who she looks like.
She is one TERRIFIC girl.
Might be the easiest foster to date.

Apply today !!

Triscuit helps with yard work

My husband and I had some things to do in the yard, so Triscuit came out to help.
Although she would probably stay with us, we chose to leash her to a stake, just in case.

She doesn't look like she is going anywhere, does she ?

Just watching the world go by.

It was a beautiful evening.

What ?? You want me to help ??
Sorry, I don't do yard work.

As you can see my foster brother, Charlie is not helping with the yard either.

Triscuit one week in

We are nearly a week in with our latest foster, Triscuit. I have to say that she had one of the easiest transitions to our home to date. She just walked into the house last Tuesday and made herself at home.
Triscut had one potty accident that first night, but has been 100% accident free ever since. I hesitate to claim her “housetrained” simply because fosters are not given the chance to fail. All fosters are crated overnight, and when they have free time, we go outside on the leash every 60 to 90 minutes. It’s a lot of work at first, but we have had pretty good luck getting every foster trained quickly by just not letting them make any mistakes.
She is pretty irresistible now, can you imagine what she’s gonna look like after her haircut later this week. I can’t wait to see her all cleaned up. I may not want to let her go.
I think Triscuit would make a great dog for the first time pet owner. She is “turn-key” with “no assembly required”. She is ready to go right out of the box. Happy, friendly and adjust to whatever and wherever with a smile on her cute little face.

Lazy Sunday

No it's not a dust mop.

Triscuit is having a lazy day inside where it's nice and cool.

Hooves are yummy

Triscuit is very good at entertaining herself.

Click for video.

Even though Triscuit LOVES to play with her foster brother, I think she would do equally well as an only dog. She likes toys, chews and her people.

Triscuit's car ride

Where did Dad go ?

Is he coming back ?

I'll watch for him.

I think I see him.

Let's go !

Triscuit 24 Hour Update

Triscuit has been with us just over 24 hours now and here is what we know.
VERY people and dog friendly. In fact, she nearly wears out our Charlie with her constant play.
Likes toys and chews.
Adapts quickly.  Made herself right at home.
Good eater. No food aggression.
Quiet in her crate at night.
Only one potty accident.
Walks pretty well on the leash. She needs a little practice, but there is no pulling and she is willing to listen to direction.
LOVES riding in the car.
Quiet. Only the occasional bark.
Only negative so far…. She somehow found her way onto our kitchen counter. (But I did leave an open can of dog food up there)

Sorry … no new pics today… I promise to get a few tonight.

Shandy gets adopted

My husband and I had plans out of town for the holiday weekend and it broke my heart when I had to take Shandy to daycare.

Good news came when we found out Shandy only had to stay at daycare one night.

A great family ( with three human brothers) came to visit her on Friday and decided to make her part of their family.

What a wonderful and beautiful surprise.

Who knew the pic above would be the last pic I would take of her.

Good luck Shandy. We will miss you.
