Remember when
you Mother told you
“It’s not how you look, but what’s on
the inside that counts”
?
Cocoa is a
great example of this. She came from a neglectful situation, her back has been
shaved, and she has some skin irritation. She is a little overweight and her
nails are very long.
But…..She is
so friendly and happy. She’s always wagging her stumpy tail and following us
around to help with whatever chore needs to be done. What a testament to her personality, to come
from a “not so good” environment and still be trusting and happy to be around
us humans.
Cocoa rode
great in the car on the way home, and made fast friends with her foster brother
the moment they met. She even played and wrestled a little with him the second
day (more on that later).
She seems to
be housetrained, but we had one accident. We will brush up on that skill.
There is a
rumor that Cocoa ate mostly human food. She was not really interested in her
kibble the first night, but by Monday morning she was gobbling it up.
Cocoa LOVES to
go for a walk. I think she just thoroughly enjoys being outdoors. She does not
have great leash manners yet, but it is so much fun to watch her prance and
skip and zoom around. You can tell she is having a lot of fun. Makes you wonder
how much outdoor time she had previously :(
Cocoa couldn’t
quite jump up on the bed last night , but I obliged and lifted her up for a
little girl time. She snuggled up next to me and snoozed while I watched some
TV before going to sleep. When it was “lights out” she had no problem going in
her crate, fell fast asleep, and didn’t make a peep all night.
